Explore →Calm Kit
Their world, inside their stories.
Calm Kit lets parents upload photos of the things their child loves most. Those photos appear in their personalised scenarios, so each story feels familiar and reassuring.
Upload what they love
Add photos of your child's favourite toy, their pet, their bedroom, or anyone who makes them feel safe. They live in a private gallery only you and your child can see.
Photos appear in scenarios
When a scenario is generated for your child, those photos are included in the scene. Their dog might appear in a park, or their favourite toy on a shelf.
Completely private
Every photo-based scenario is generated only for your child and never shared or reused for anyone else. What you upload stays yours.
Reduces anxiety
Familiar objects in unfamiliar social situations help children feel grounded, which can be the difference between engaging and shutting down.
How Calm Kit works
Parent uploads photos
Go to the Calm Kit section in your parent dashboard and upload up to 10 photos of things your child loves.
A personalised scenario is generated
One or more of your photos is included in the scene as a background element.
An OT reviews the scenario
Every photo-integrated scenario is reviewed by our occupational therapist advisor before your child sees it.
Child plays in their world
Your child works through a story set in familiar surroundings, which helps them feel secure and build confidence.
Zones Check-in
The right scenario for how they feel today.
A child’s needs can change from day to day. The daily Zones of Regulation check-in lets parents share how their child is feeling, so Skill Bloom can choose a suitable scenario for that day.
Blue Zone
Low, tired, sad, or bored. Skill Bloom picks a gentle, low-pressure scenario with a comforting tone and simple choices.
Green Zone
Calm, happy and ready to learn. Skill Bloom picks a standard challenge matched to the child’s level and goals.
Yellow Zone
Worried, frustrated, or excited. Skill Bloom picks a scenario that channels that energy into a manageable challenge.
Red Zone
Overwhelmed or very upset. Skill Bloom picks a short, very gentle scenario, or suggests visiting the Calm Kit first.
The Zones of Regulation framework is already used in most UK SEND schools. Using the same language at home and in the app helps children build a consistent understanding of their own emotions.
How the daily check-in works
Parent gets a daily nudge
Before each session, a short notification asks how your child is feeling today.
Parent selects a zone
Tap one of the four zones and add optional context, like “had a difficult morning”.
The right scenario is chosen
The zone is combined with the child’s goal, history, and age group to pick the most appropriate scenario.
Child opens and starts
The scenario is ready with no setup required. Your child simply taps to begin.
Goals
Practice with a purpose.
Goal Setting lets parents choose the social skills they want their child to focus on. Skill Bloom then prioritises scenarios that practise those skills, so each session works towards a clear goal.
Starting conversations
How to begin talking to someone new in different settings.
Joining a group
The steps for entering an existing group without feeling excluded.
Asking for help
Knowing when and how to ask a trusted adult or peer for support.
Taking turns
Patience, listening, and waiting in conversations and games.
Managing conflict
Handling disagreements, misunderstandings, and frustration safely.
Saying no
The confidence to set boundaries and decline uncomfortable situations.
How Goal Setting works
Parent sets a focus goal
Choose one or two skills to work on this week or month. Goals can change any time.
Scenarios are prioritised
The daily check-in and the active goal combine to select scenarios targeted at that skill.
Progress tracked to the goal
The dashboard shows how many goal-related scenarios are done and how the child is progressing.
Goal achieved
The child earns a special badge tied to the skill, and you’re prompted to set the next goal.
Progress Reports
Clear evidence of progress.
Downloadable progress reports give parents a clear record of their child’s social skills development to share with SENCOs and occupational therapists, or to keep for their own records.
Progress Report
June 2026 · Generated by Skill Bloom
Skills progress this month
Skills progress over time
See which skills are growing, which need practice, and how confidence has changed month by month.
Badges and milestones
Every badge earned and milestone reached is recorded with the date it was achieved.
Share with school
Download as a PDF and share with your SENCO, OT, or support team as part of an EHCP review.
Monthly reports
A new report at the end of every month, with previous reports always available to download.
Sensory Settings
The app that adjusts to your child.
No two neurodivergent children experience the world in the same way. Sensory Settings let parents adjust how Skill Bloom looks, sounds and moves, so each session suits their child.
Reduce motion
Turns off animations and transitions for children sensitive to movement on screen.
Narration speed
Slow down or speed up the voice narration in every scenario, from 0.75× to 1.5×.
Larger text
Increases text size for children who benefit from larger, clearer text.
High contrast mode
A high-contrast colour scheme for visual processing differences or light sensitivity.
Mute sound effects
Turns off sound effects while keeping voice narration on.
Simplified layout
Reduces on-screen information and removes decorative elements to focus on the scenario.
Sensory Settings are set by the parent and apply automatically every time the child opens the app. The child never needs to adjust anything themselves.
Appointment Manager
What their specialists recommend, practised every day.
The Appointment Manager keeps your child’s assessments in one place and reminds you before each one. Upload the reports you’re given afterwards, and what they recommend shapes the stories your child plays next.
Every assessment in one place
Add each appointment with the professional's name and role, where it is, the date and time, and any notes you want to remember.
Reminders before each one
We remind you 24 hours and 1 hour before every appointment, in your notifications and on your phone if the Skill Bloom app is installed.
Upload the reports you're given
Add assessment reports from a speech and language therapist, OT or educational psychologist, diagnostic letters, or EHCP sections, as a PDF or a photo.
Recommendations shape their stories
When a report recommends something, like visual prompts or turn-taking practice, your child's next stories are built around it.
How the Appointment Manager works
Add an appointment
Enter who it's with, where and when. Upcoming and past appointments are kept for each child.
Get reminded
A reminder arrives a day before and again an hour before, so nothing is missed.
Upload the report
Afterwards, upload the written report or letter and link it to the appointment it came from.
Confirm what it recommends
We find the recommendations in the report for you to check. Tick any we missed, and every new story practises at least one of them.
Reports are read securely to find their recommendations. Only those recommendations shape your child’s stories; the report’s own words never appear in a story. The Appointment Manager is part of the Premium plan.
