Skill Bloom

About Skill Bloom

For the child at the edge of the group.

Skill Bloom is a social skills app for neurodivergent children aged 4 to 12. We turn the everyday situations children find hardest, such as joining in, asking for help and managing strong feelings, into safe, playful scenarios they can rehearse as often as they need.

Too many children are told to “just join in” without being shown how.

Private social skills therapy is expensive and hard to access, and NHS waiting lists stretch for months. That leaves families with very little support between an assessment and everyday life.

Skill Bloom aims to close that gap. It offers an affordable, always-available place to rehearse social skills and recognises progress at every step, so children can carry what they learn into the playground, the classroom and home.

What we build, and how.

Four commitments shape every scenario, screen and report in Skill Bloom.

A safe place to practise
Interactive, illustrated scenarios let children rehearse real social situations without failure or penalties. They are gently redirected when needed and can try again as often as they like.
Personalised to each child
A quick daily check-in and parent-set goals shape every scenario, so each session matches how your child feels and what they are working on right now.
Grounded in evidence
Built with occupational therapists and SENCOs, and structured around the Zones of Regulation framework already used across UK SEND schools.
Built for families and schools
A parent dashboard, downloadable progress reports and school plans mean the people around a child can see and support their growth together.
“I built Skill Bloom for the child standing at the edge of the group, wanting to join in and not knowing how. Every scenario is a chance to practise, safely, until it feels possible.”
