Skill Bloom

Frequently asked questions

Questions, answered.

Everything families ask us most about Skill Bloom. If you cannot find what you are looking for, we are always happy to help.

Getting started

What Skill Bloom is, and how it fits your child.

What is Skill Bloom?

Skill Bloom is a social skills app for neurodivergent children aged 4 to 12. It turns everyday situations children find hard, such as joining in, asking for help and managing strong feelings, into safe, playful stories they can rehearse as often as they need.

How are the stories personalised for my child?

We use their age, their interests and the skills you tell us they find hard to create each new story. A quick daily check-in and the goals you set shape every session, so it matches how your child feels and what they are working on right now.

Can I add more than one child?

Yes. In the parent area, go to Settings, then Children, and choose “Add a child” to create another profile. Each child has their own space, stories, badges and progress.

What devices does Skill Bloom work on?

Skill Bloom works in any web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. Dedicated iOS and Android apps are coming soon, and one subscription will cover your whole family on every device.

Stories, badges and streaks

How your child practises, and how progress is celebrated.

How many stories can my child do each day?

Every child on any plan can complete 2 stories per day. After that, the app celebrates what your child has learned and encourages them to try the skills in real life before their next session.

How does my child earn a badge?

Badges are earned automatically once your child completes every story and real-life practice task in a level. There is no separate quiz, and every badge comes with a certificate you can print.

What is a streak?

A streak counts the days in a row your child practises. Finishing a story or a real-life task counts for the day. Streak badges are won at 3, 7, 14, 21, 30, 60 and 100 days, and once won they are kept for good. Missing a day simply starts a fresh streak.

For parents

Keeping the parent area private, and your family’s data safe.

What is the parental gate?

A security question that only you know the answer to. It keeps the parent area, with its settings, reports and billing, private from your child.

Is my child’s data safe?

Yes. All data is encrypted and stored securely. We never sell personal information, and we share it only with the service providers needed to run Skill Bloom, as set out in our privacy policy. We comply with UK GDPR and the ICO’s Children’s Code.

How do I delete my account?

In the parent area, go to Settings and choose “Delete account”. This permanently removes your account and every child on it. You can also request deletion without signing in from our account deletion page.

Plans and billing

Starting free, upgrading, and cancelling.

How does the free plan work?

The free plan gives your child their first 2 personalised stories at no cost and with no time limit. After those, you can upgrade to Classic or Premium to continue.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. If you cancel a paid plan, you keep access until the end of your billing period.
